Migrant Workers Matter!
Article 49
States shall provide migrant workers with a permit of stay of at least the same duration of their authorisation to work. Moreover, in the event that migrant workers lose their jobs, this does not automatically mean that they lose also their permit of stay. Migrant workers cannot be considered as irregular only because they have lost their job. The Convention wants to avoid situation of irregularity; this is why it requires States to grant migrant workers with sufficient time to find another job.
